Process of the Risk Check
In the beginning of the Risk Check, a sample is taken from you. This usually is a smear of your mucosa or another bodily fluid. The sample is then examined in the laboratory for sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis, gonococci and chlamydia, and if requested also for HPV (human papillomavirus) in women.
As soon as the results are available, you will receive your results. If you would like to speak to one of our specialists afterwards, you can choose an expansion of your service package accordingly.

FAQs about the Risk Check
An STD test checks whether you have sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). At VenusMed this test is called “risk check”.
At VenusMed, the risk check for STDs costs 170 €. If you would also like an examination by one of our specialists in addition to the STD test, we will charge a total of 310 €.
The sexually transmitted diseases you should be tested for depend on your individual history and risk profile. We recommend a comprehensive STD test, especially if you change your sexual partners every now and then and if you do not consistently practice safer sex (for example with condoms).

The symptoms of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) depend on the respective disease and its stage. Moreover, the symptoms may not only affect the genital area, but the whole body. For example, if you experience symptoms such as itching, rashes, vaginal discharge, vaginal burning, a burning sensation when urinating, aphthae, a fever, groin pain, abdominal pain, pain during sex, body aches or swollen or inflamed lymph nodes, these can be signs for STDs.
